Well, I think thats BS. This is FTE Ford Truck Enthusiats. If you dont own a Ford and own the brand that everyone hates on this forum, then why are you here? Do you have any posts outside of the Ford vs the competion forum? I think its time to dump the DuraCrap and get a real truck.
Ya might want to take it easy bud. This is only an internet website, where everyone is free to post. If Dmax-hd came to your door and started pushing chebby on you, you'd have the right to be defensive. He's just bringing up a topic for discussion, rather open-minded if you ask me. I've read a number of Dmax-hd's threads, and he's probably one of the more logical, straight-shootin' guy on here. When he posts, he posts with facts and has references to back them up, just not emotional threads.
Granted I'm not a big chebby fan, but I give Dmax-hd the respected he has earned, and get disgusted with persons like you who are too bull headed to even listen to other people that have other preferences.
Who sanctions truck pulls? Are they actually sponsored by Ford, Dodge, Chevrolet or any of the diesel manufacturers? Are they stock diesels? My idea is that most people are using their Fords for work, and don't have a lot of time to make it to compete in the truck pulls.
I do know that Cummins is a big-time sponser. I've seen the name plastered on all 3 brand trucks - even chev's. I would assume to 'Pull' seriously you'd need some pretty deep pockets.
farmBoy stated my thoughts perfectly.DMAX is a great guy and a great poster. His posts are always informitive and well thought out and I always look forward to seeing them. Now back to the topic. Ive been to truck pulls where both the duramax and 6.0 have pulled. This truck pulling is so much driver and technique and weight distribution and sometimes just luck. Ive seen both duramaxes and 6.0s win in truck pulls as well as Dodge cummins. At this one county fair truck pulling is a tradition that goes back many years. Everybody comes out to pull. Really its just one big gtg with your buddies havin a good time watchin an pullin and helping others out when you can. A big party. Everybody always seein what the other guy is doing. So maybe you shouild try it when you pull. I dont take it too seriously. All the diesels are good truck pullers with the right driver. I just hope nobody has a serious breakdown.

We have truck pulls here as well in the central plains and most diesels that compete are mostly Duramax's and Powerstroke's, haven't seen to many cummins but here people dont care about if your either a ford or a chevy guy or most likely a dodge guy, they do it for the fun of it. I do some truck pulling myself with my modified 03 Chevy Silverado D/A and rite now im working on a 02 Ford 7.3 250, as my next project so yeah.
Am I the only one who finds the quieter diesels a bad thing?
The smell and the sound of diesels were the reasons I first started liking diesels when I was younger.
No, there is at least one more.
Well, I'm younger now, and the thing I like most about diesels
is the sound. And the smell.
They should make a CD of diesels running. You know, have a track for each engine.
Oh yeah, don't forget your diesel exhaust air freshener.
after pulling in over 20 events in MI, IN, OH, KY this past season the Powerstroke needs some help next season or it will continue taking a back seat to the Cummins and the Duramax.
I have never seen a duramax over take a powerstroke at any pull that Ive been. Ive been to quite a few pulls this past summer. In the pulls Ive seen the powerstrokes consisitently in the top 5. Winning several pulls and placing second to the Cummins. The guy I know has won most pulls has a powerstroke. Hes pretty experienced thiough and has a good technique.. The GMs front end is prone to breaking the tie rods at some off the pulls Ive been too.
