gas milage when towing

Hey y`all are there any of you with a carbed E150 302/AOD that tows ~ 3,000 lbs ? if so how many miles to the gallon do you get ? I got ~ 18 miles to the gallon last month pulling a small boat but that was prolly only 400 lbs or so.

My dad used to get 18 in his 1977 F150 with a 302 and a C6, that was towing a race car on a trailer, and the team.

then something is wrong with my setup. 3:55 gears, a 351W and my 5.0 on a trailer. maybe 12 mpg??

No, that's about right... We only got 10mpg moving my sis back from PA.... I get 13 to 14 towing our trailer empty, it's a 1959 Ford truck bed, that has been converted.
