Super camper special

Just bought a super camper special and I thought I could use the bed on my 1975 f 250. It turns out as I was reading the forums on super camper specials the beds are longer and I maybe cannot use this bed. This bed is in excellent shape. Any suggestions or comments.

whats wrong with the scs that your looking at tearing it apart? these are rare trucks that would be worth keeping intact. as far as using the bed, its an 8ft bed, but the wheel wells are set back farther on the frame. you get the same overall length truck, just with a longer wheelbase.

The scs that I have is not 4 wheel drive and also I did a frame off restoration on 75 f250 and I already have the frame repainted and everything.

Check into using the scs rear springs on your 75 F250. I think that the reason the wheel wells are set back is because of the stack of springs that turn the rear axle back to the rear of the truck. I have a freind in Oregon who had a 77 F250 4x4 and he changed out the rear springs for scs springs. Well, that set his rear axle back and he would prolly kill for that bed. I would try changing the springs along with the bed. It might work.
I do hate to see a scs truck get parted out though. Are you sure you don't just want to restore IT?
Good Luck, Tim

Edit: also, my buddy from Oregon changed out the rear end. I believe these are Dana 70. Once again, I would seriously consider restoring the super camper special. Or sell it to someone who wants it and by lot's of beds!!!

I must agree. Restore the scs....they are rare. I'm fortunate to have access to one that I've known since it came into the family in 1976. Awesome truck!! I just have to rebuild the rearend and possibly the engine. Its almost all original except for the 4spd that was exchanged for the C-6.
