So I was at the dealer today, I blew my boot over the weekend. They said that they will off course replace the boots and clamps but that they also have a shippment of new pipes coming in on thursday. Anyone else got one of these yet??
I also just called for the same problem . My dealer had know idea what I was talking about until they called the parts manager . He told me there was an upgrade on the original upgrade for this problem . He ordered the parts and said they should be here in a couple of days . I have heard that the new pipe is designed to actualy bond to the boots during heat up . Thus eliminating the problem forever . Not sure if this is true . But what I have heard . Correct me if anybody knows for sure .

Is this going to be a recall item? Will Ford fix it if it is not broke? With all the issues I have read, I would prefer some preventitive maintenence vs. problems when I am towing or on vacation.
If not, any suggestions on how to have a planned failure? SHhhhhhh.... they might be listening...
Yea ! Just loosen the bottom clamp and pull the boot off . Put it back on and tighten the clamp back down . The oil film inside the boot will cause the blow off . My dealer called me today to say , " Your vin# does not produce a fix for your problem . " I really hate my local dealer . I think I will take Tim's advice and fix it myself . He suggested taking the pipe to a muffler shop and have them flare the ends just a bit . This would keep the clamp from sliding off . Hey Tim have you done this fix or know of anybody who has ? How much should the flare out be on the ends ?

You could try just telling them that your pipe blew off AGAIN under load. HOWEVER you were lucky enough not to have the boot break, but you are inquiring about the possibility of a new intercooler pipe that might help your situation??
My gf says I'm a great b.s.'r.. But I mean really, we paid $45k for these beasts, they can at least give us an intercooler pipe that doesn't blow off!!
I have to give an answer cuz Mr T says hell kick my *** if I don't post
I have a January 04 and just got the new cold side pipe.
Bigger and different clamp and new tube for clamp to fit on.....
Go look at an 05 and thats what it looks like.
