I can't believe it. My truck was in the shop for 30 days because it wouldn't start with 1,200 miles on it.
Yesterday, I innocently inquired on a 'buy it back' string, just to keep my options open, and knowlege base current. I also mentioned I was taking the truck back to the dealer because one of the rear door latches is inoperative.
Today, I drove it around on various errands and it started idling a bit rough, like it was missing. Just did that a few times, then pulling into a parking lot, the gas (sic) pedal didn't work. Coasted into a parking space, and after a few seconds it started working again. Went on to another stop at Lowes, and after returning to the truck, I backed out of the space, and the pedal was dead again.
Again, after 10 seconds or so, it started working again, but this time while idling through the parking lot, I suffered from the old 'sudden unintended acceleration' problem Audi's were so famous for. It went from a 600 or so idle, to about 11 or 1200 rpm. Luckily, I had my foot on the brake at the time.
I love my truck, it is just what I wanted, but I don't feel I can trust it. It already messed up one vacation. It still has only 1,800 miles on it.
This is it, back to the dealer tomorrow, for repairs, and I guess I will have to get more serious about trying to return it. I really do want one just like it that can be trusted. This is my fourth new Ford truck and the only one ever to have problems. I suppose I will find out how much my dealer values my business.
As I said, yesterday I was just keeping options open, now I just plain don't trust it.
Sorry to hear about the problems. Let us know how it turns out. If it's already been in the shop 30 days, you'd probably qualify for a DSB in most states.

tbirdrick,
I am also interested in what the specs are on your truck, so please post a description when you can. It may help pinpoint problem areas that others here have past experience with.
Tim, thanks for your answer to his ps. question, as I had never seen that breakdown either.

Tim your a Post "Fiend"??? I always considered you a very helpful guy that liked to type way to fast. Not a fiend....
Per Websters dictionary, An evil spirit; A diabolically evil or wicked person; a demon. The Devil .
You must fall in one of the informal definitions: One who is addicted to something. One who is completely absorbed in or obsessed with a given job or pastime: One who is particularly adept at something: e.g. a fiend with computers.
Anyway, I thought the title was cool - but after seeing the defintion I figured I had to point it out. Just kidding you about the whole thing, your not the devil, more a busy beaver trying (and succeeding) to help everyone out .

The wiring problem was supposedly corrected long ago with a modified harness, but it is worth checking anyway. Inquire into what codes are given by the computer, odds are that the computer is not giving any codes like mine did. Have them check to see what the computer is receiving for data with the truck off. Mine showed 10psi boost with the truck not running. Don't give up on the truck, but do document everything. Talk to the service manager and voice your concerns. Ford finally agreed to replace my truck w/o ever going through the DSB process or lemon law process.
Hope you can get your truck right. I bought excrusion 6.0 in May, have 2400 miles on it, been towed 3 times for same thing (injectors leaking diesel fuel into crankcase) an now going thru buy back process.

Send me a PM with you VIN and we can see if anything else has happened to it.

May of 04? That would make them C95 injectors. Most of the injector issues were associated with the earlier C94s. Did you use a fuel additive with alcohol in it?
