trailar hookup

2000 F250 7.3
I have the factory package for trailar lights on my truck, I pull five different trailars and now no trailar lights. The lights on the truck still work fine. Trailar lights stop working on the right side and as of this weekend no lights. Is there a fuse in the truck panel or a fuse in the hookup or do I need to get a new connection. What do you think.

I assume you have checked all your plugs for proper contact?

yes

There are two plugs, a flat four and a round one. They both produced the same lights that would not work. Now Both plugs will not work. I think I'll check the fuses under the hood.
thanks

Also check your wiring, sounds as if one side failed and then the other it may be rubbing and grounding out on the frame somewhere.

Figure it out yet? Sounds like a fuse to me.. Are your brakelights working on the truck?

Now The Question Is Why Did They Blow. Make Sure The Plugs Are Not Corroded At All.

boat

Maybe when I put my boat in they shorted. I check wiring and plugs for good shape.

If The Plugs Look Good Then Start With The Grounds. If The Trailer Is Causing The Short, Most Of The Time It Is A Bad Ground.

Maybe your harness is not completely plugged in tightly, allowing water to enter.
I have a problem with the plug harness coming unplugged from the back of the truck's plug. So when I plug the trailer, I also make sure the harness is plugged into the socket. Usually it is not. When the trailer brakes stop working, I know it is time to pull over and check the harness.

I had a similiar problem. Turns out a short in my trailer wiring harness burnt out the solonoids and computer processor (at least that is what the dealer tells me) The short put my 02 350 into limp mode.
