5 to 8 lug
is there any way to make a 5 lug dana44 to a 8 lug would i jut have to change the rotor
other than 8 lugs and the hevy duty brakes is there any diffrence between the 1/2's and the 3/4 ton dana 44's
woudn't mind a dana has any one donethis conversion on a 79 are some were close

Just pick up an 8 lug 44 from a 3/4 ton truck and swap over the outer pieces from the calipers out. I think the axle shaft may or may not be different but you can compare these items during the swap. Another way to see if they are the same is to cross reference part numbers.

There are people that have done the install both ways. Some like the coils better than the leaf spring set up. To install the leafs there is some major frame mods that have to be done but the 60 front axle will need some work as well. Try searching the site for the info before asking. If you can't find what you need by searching then state that in your post. good luck
