I too was initially a bit disappointed with ride of my 2002 X. I had read/researched enough in advance to know I would likely have to modify to get what I wanted. The Rancho 9000 adjustable shocks and hellwig AS bar along with E load tires made a huge difference. I towed my 26' 6800 lb TT along with 6 adults and the rear storage loaded with firewood; being careful to protect the interior from scatches

The beast towed beautifully thru the Adirondack mountains without any problems. The temps ran great, the ride was wonderful. I was amazed at the speed I could maintain uphill! I use a Reese Dual Cam WD hitch and had virtually no sway when the big trucks plowed by...

I am looking at radius rods for the next upgrade.... Just have to figure out how to pay without the household accountant figuring how much I spent!

We have to understand the target audience for the x versus the superduty....

The X is the people hauler - the Superduty is the "tower"....

You can do both with either, but one is better suited than the other...

And if you like the GM - go there ! I'm sure there are gm sites as well

Talking

I pulled a 29' Fleetwood from So Cal to Nor Cal (2152.3 miles) on a trip last Easter in my "STOCK" '00 Excursion and had a stress free, tow the whole trip (Well stress free as long as the Red Bull and snacks were being handed to me and we were actually traveling. The kids with "daddy, I've gotta go to the bathroom every 15 miles was the most stress of the trip).

I pull that thing all over So Cal and into AZ and it never misses a beat.

I do have a Draw Tight WD hitch and Sway bar. Other than that...7700 pounds and a family of four. "No sweat!"

I also have an '02 F250 C/C (has an 8" lift, 35" tires, V10, K&N intake, 3" Borla Exhahst, and Bilstiens w/reserviors on all four corners). With 2 bikes, 35 gallons of gas, misc. gear and an 1/8 of a cord fire wood, pulling the same trailer. It towes just like my Excursion. Now try and find that comparison in the next issue of "Consumer Reports"!
