i just got an 79 bronco the rear is already a d60 im looken to see what all would be invloved in either converting a 60 to run on the coil springs are converting it to leaf the bronco and f150 has a diffrent frame than the 250 and 350 am i correct
are any of yall running 38 are larger and a 460 haven problems with snappen the 44's up front
i can also pic up a d 70 rear woud there be much diffrence between the 2 the d60 i have had a powertrax i believe
I sheared a right side stub shaft on my 79 460 Bronc..... BUT, that was also after it having sat neglected for about 4 yrs, which was 5yrs after I had put the 460 in and and it happened when I landed after a double bounce in a mud hole that I ramped into at hi-rpms in Lo range for the 4th time, so I cant really blame it on the D44 tho (BTW, that was with 38" Swampers too) If you have the D60 for the front, then I would probably go ahead with the swap, altho I dont know that I would go out of my way to do it unless I was planning on building an Ultimate type rig or something. That D44 is alot stronger than people give them credit for IMHO.
i can't figure out why it won't fire 12 votls to the coil with the key on and 12 volts out of the coil wire there is 3 plugs comming out of the modual are you soposed to use more thank one i have the one hooked up to the distributor the other ones in the area don;t match up turns over fine it is getting fuel just no spark
have you checked for spark at the plugs had similar problem when i did the 460 swap on my 86 bronco and it was the ignition module .evidently i crossed wires somewhere and burnt the ignition module out very easy to do also you can have the module checked at some parts stores
i checked the coil wire and there was no spark the truck didn;t have a modual when i got it so i went and picked one up only found one plug that fit into it how many are soposed to plug in only the one to the distibutor fit on mine
this Maybewill help you a bit in hooking up the Duraspark. It sounds as if you dont have the power hooked up to the brainbox. Follow the lead from the coil to the plug over by the brainbox, that will be the other plug that connects to the duraspark.
Also, the module in the Dist could be bad too
i have the 4 prong hooked up one to the coil the other 3 wires to the distributior there is a plug comming out of the fire wall that is 3 prong but the clips that hold it face the wrong way and there is a one prong that runs down to the lights i have 12 volts comming out of the coil wire just not spark thaks for the diagram
