My airbag light flashes this code: Long, short, short. Does anyone know what that means. I have 130k miles on the van, and am due for a new one. I know it needs to go to the dealer! But as a trade in or a repair is yet to be determined.
Mike
I have a 93. Mine is flashing 3 and 2. Also my Cruise and horn are not working. There is a plate in the steering column called a clock spring assembly that all of these pass thru. it is
about $90 at the dealer.
Just got my van out of the shop....replaced the clock spring assembly, it fixed my horn, fixed the cruise control AND stopped the air bag light from flashing. ALL 3 of these devices go thru the CS ASSEMBLY. $90 for the part and 6$60 for the labor.
BigMike,
My 94 did the same thing. I think the wires
were not design long enough.
I replaced the clock spring assembly myself.
Was about a 2hr job.
It fixed the air bag light, horn,& cruise.
You have to remove the steering wheel and airbag.
Follow the wires under the dash 2 plugins.
Not really that bad if you have the tools.
Good luck
You stated the job (replacing the clock spring assembly) is not too bad if you have the tools. Do I need any specialized tools for removing the steering wheel? Thanks for your response and info!!
