Here's the problem. I have this project truck, 1990 F-350 with a 460, and what I want to do is change the rubber fuel lines with stainless, and hard hard tube, just because I like the look, but I can't figure out how make the connections to the fuel rail, the fuel filter, and the fuel pumps. Has any one done this before? The fuel filter I figure I can change out to a high performance type with fittings for the stainless, but the fuel rail and the fuel pump connection still have me stumped. Please help.
I have a similar problem. I'm using the EFI on an 1989 5.0L in my 54 Panel. The problem of the day is how to connect the fuel rail which uses a spring loaded retainer to my new hard lines. It doesn't look like rocket science but I haven't been successful finding the necessary parts to make the connection.
The original connection used the spring loaded connecter on one end and then a barbed connector on the other. Over the barbed end was a hard plastic fuel line which appears to have been heat shrunk over the barbs. The problem is that the barbed end fits too loosely in flexible 5/16 fuel injection hose.
