Starts, then stalls

We have had some rain the past few days. My explorer starts with my foot on the gas, and will stay running until I pick my foot off the gas and then it stalls. It will run all day with my foot on the accelarator, I take it off nothing.
any advice will be helpful. 2001 ford explorer sport.

Sounds like a vacum leak. Get a can of injector cleaner and spary it around the intake and hoses. If it idles up you found a leak.

Also the Idle senser could be going out.

If you suspect a moisture problem, dry out the sparkplug wiring and coil area. Moisture will kill the high voltage section. If you see any green corrosion, clean that off or buy a new part if you can't get it all.
