The cold miss is back.....

I'm starting to suspect I may have a cracked head on my 94 3.0L. Has anyone else had this kind of trouble? The truck runs great hot only, runs rough cold, like 1 cylinder is not firing. I also use coolant but not a lot. Any tips on what to look for?

I had the same thing happen on a 92 3.0. It turned out to be a head gasket. Any good mechanic can run a pressure test on the cooling system and diagnose problem.

Well, the culprit was a blown head gasket on the passenger side. Got a used head for 35 bucks CDN, lapped the valves in and spent the weekend cutting and scraping myself working on this stupid thing! Runs good now. I sure am glad that the 3.0 is a small engine, most parts I can move 1 handed!

That was the same side as mine. Glad you got it fixed, those 3.0's are great running engines
