We have had the used Excursion for about 4 weeks and the wife has had trouble starting twice. Well today it wouldn't start for me or atleast not with out hitting the gas pedal and it barely wanting to idle. If I don't hit the gas it just turns over as if there is no fuel or spark. Well I shut it off and I had a little trouble restarting it again. It did this like three times in a row and then it started fine.
I have done a search and every post I looked at had nothing to do with hard starting issues. So I am looking for what may be the most common cause for this type of problem. My guess is the fuel pump is on it's way out? thanks
I was thinking it could be the IAC and on my explorer it acted up and never gave a code? I will search for IAC and see what I can dig up.
UPDATE
I just drove the truck again and it is acting just like the explorer did when the IAC went bad. I have to hold the gas pedal in order to keep the truck idling. Once I start driving it will idle on it's own which the explorer never did. I amy try to clean the IAC before buying one and see if that helps.
