As soon as I bought my truck, I made an appointment to get the bed Rhino lined. I like the way it turned out and it looks great, but its not as tough as I thought it was. Its actually pretty soft. It does prevent scratches on the bare metal and keeps everything from rusting, but its not very dent resistant.
I have popped 4 dent out of my wheel wells so far because I keep banging them up.
The reason I am posting this is for potential Bed liner buyers.
Before you spray on a bed liner, think about what your gonna be doing with it. I think that the line-x is a harder polymer and will prevent dent better that the rhino will. Rhino linings look great and do a very good job of preventing rust, but theyre just not resistant enough of dents and dings.
Just my personal opinion. Anyone else feel free to elaborate and/or rebut my statements.
I have had friends with both rhino and line-x and both are very happy, but after looking at them both I like the texture of the line-x better. I think it's a little more expensive but that's what I'm going to go for.
This is just my opinion...I have Line-X and am very satisfied, but it will NOT protect from dents...there is just not enough material thickness. It will prevent scratches and gouges (from pushing or pulling things in the bed) but if you DROP something heavy enough, it will definitely result in a dent.
Both Line-X and Rhino are good liners, and everybody has their preference, but only a drop-in will give some degree of protection against dents. But I've had a drop-in before and won't go back! If you're gonna haul stone or whatever, just lay a sheet of plywood down over your spray-in and yank it out when your done.
A lot of it depends on the sprayer. In my part of houston, the rhino guy sprayed a thicker amount of material than the Line X guy did and for the same price. Want the dent protection and none of the problems of a liner, then you might want to try a bed rug.
Just purchased a 2004 Supercrew 4X4 Friday and want to get a spray in liner. Had drop in on 1999 F150 Scab didn't care for stuff sliding around. How much am I looking at as far as price for them. I have Linex and Rhino dealers here so could use some input.

I went with Line-X on my 2003 F-350 PSD SC LB 4X4, they charged me 425, but I printed out a $25 off coupon from line-x.com, so 400 was the damage. Plus, they had the smarts to take out the bolts and plugs BEFORE they sprayed. This is extremely important. I've never heard of this stuff coming off.
Very important point...... MAKE SURE THEY REMOVE BEDBOLTS AND TAILGATE HANDLE COVER BOLTS! Other wise, you'll prolly be mad as hell down the road some time.
They cover the bed bolts when they installed mine and now I cant put on a body lift.
Has anyone noticed different shades of the the Line-X spray? I have a very glossy looking and dark black color while a colleague has a duller gray color. Not sure if this is just the weathering settling in or not, but I like how it is right now?
I had a Line-X bedliner in my previous truck (2000 Ranger) and I loved it. We have a Rhino Liner in our utility truck at the firehouse and it's good but if it's wet watch out, I almost fell a few times, with the Line-X I never had that problem. My work truck has another brand, Super Liner, and I don't care for the quality or the thickness that was applied. It is also starting to peel off the tailgate (they said it's due to the paint on the truck), which may be true, I know the guy personally that did it and I don't believe he would B.S. me but who knows. As far as the weather the Line-X did seem to fade a little but if I remember correctly they do sell a product at the Line-X dealer to keep the shine. I'll put it this way, as soon as I have the money I will have my new F-150 done at Line-X. The better the quality, the higher the price. Just keep in mind the saying " You get what you pay for."
