i had always thought that they were the same. splash=stepside , stepside=splash. im a styleside man myself. like the look of a stepside box, but dont like the lack of space in the box, bad enough im limited to a 6' bed with the supercab. sorry, i know nothing about the decals but to check with your local ford dealer parts dept.
the splash is a type of stepside, its a specialty edition basically, the splash=stepside, but stepside is not always a splash, they don't make a styleside splash, thats what the edge is about now, but the splash decals are probably available through the factory, but you might if you want to try, look through ebay, they could have something.
Splash package includes a stiffer, more car-like suspension. It is also about 2 inches lower than the other Rangers. The wheels are premium, and the bumpers are the same color as the body, no chrome accents. You also get the deluxe mirrors! Not them flimsy ones that wobble. And the decals. I've seen them available on Ebay and if you do a yahoo search you can find a couple of pretty cool Splash sites. So, folks, a stepside is NOT = to Splash. It's just a Ranger of a different package with a stepside bed. BTW, they stopped Splash production in '98, so no more Splash after that model year.
thanks for the input, my ranger is a 93 ford splash with a 4.0 litre engine. and someone painted the black again but did not put the dacals back on. I want to get the decals to make it complete. I dont know alot about the splash, but it is definetly different than the other rangers I have driven. Better handling and more power. With big tough mirrors!!
4x4 ford, you need the full rainbow decals that are red, yellow, blue and white, not the green blue and white ( those were for the yellow truck). Those are for the front quarterpanels and doors, and then the tailgate. There are many decals that were made for different colors and years. Just thought I'd let you know which ones and how many you needed (3) if you didn't! And have fun. I wish I still had my '93.
i want to get one. always wanted a brilliant blue reg cab or sup. cab, preferably a stickshift. right now i'm going back from f150 to ranger or similar due to gas prices.
