Aftermarket electronics???
1) AM/FM (digital AM/FM a plus but not required)
2) Navigation system (DVD based, preferrably separate drive from playing a DVD video or audio CD/DVD so both could be done at the same time)
3) XM receiver fully integrated... no modulator or tape adapter (with new title, artist, album, category display all at one without having to press a lot of buttons to see all that info)
4) CD player... multi is a plus, but I would settle for single.
5) DVD video w/ remote screen in rear (I could do this as a separate unit if there is none that integrates this with radio/nav or if it makes me compromise on any other features)
6) Nav/GPS and XM antenna all in one... not 2 separate antennas
7) Able to use the Expedition steering wheel controls (I was told by a local store that someone makes an adapter that hooks into the Ford wiring harness and turns the steering wheel controls into IR which can then control any aftermarket unit, but the sales person did not remember who made it)
8) If video is integrated, video audio should be able to go to back seat speakers and ANY other source (AM/FM/Sat) should be able to go to front speakers... and while both of those are happening I should be able to use the navigation system.
9) **** Does not make my dash look like crap! I would love to find ONE unit that fits the same space as the OEM unit... with the screen permanently mounted and always visible for all operations (touch screen)... I am not a big fan of the small radio units that will have a big filler plate around them making the dash look like crap and then have to have a flip up screen off the front of the unit.
I know these are a lot of requirements, but it would seem someone would have something to fit the bill... any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Jeff

Also PIE makes adapters for your controls easy install and nice upgrade. -Bill
Thanks for the response... I will look over those units you have recommended... I assume they use separate sat antennas?
Also, who is PIE? And where can I find a web site or source?
Thanks,
Jeff

The xm unit is a separate antenna I mounted mine above the back hatch.

I have always been a Yamaha Home Audio Fan. They are some of the most under rated High end units out there. Now I see were Retailers are pairing the Yamaha Systems with Bose speakers. Who the hell wants a Bose anyways! Over rated and over priced.
I could just add a Power inverter and pack it in the back. I can see a 7.1 1000watt HTS jammed in there, LMAO. Just add a 40" flat screen and live in it.
I have looked on the Euro Sites and Japanees sites as well. None show car audio systems, speakers or amps.
