Serial number on outboard

where would i find the serial number on a 95 evinrude 20 horse on motor head or cowl

There should be a riveted-on plate somewhere pretty obvious that has the model and serial numbers... I would imagine it would be somewhere on the clamp that attaches to the transom of the boat.

If I remember correctly, there should be a tag riveted to the lower unit on the left side where it mounts to the transom and if the powerhead hasn`t been changed, there should be a freezeplug on top close to your flywheel with the serial number stamped in it. If nothing has been changed, they should match. At least thats where they were on my 1985 Johnson.
