Bleeding the brakes
I recently replaced a left front brake line on my 94 F150. The line ran from the master cylinder to the left front brake. That was the easy part. Every one of my bleeder screws is rusted in place very securely. I have tried feverishly to get at least one of them open, and have only succeeded in stripping them further. The brakes seem to be fairly solid, without the bleed, but my conscious won't let it go. Also, the ABS light is on on the dash. Does anybody know any other way to bleed the system, or any tricks to open up a stripped, rusted bleeder screw? I'll be indebted to you forever if you can help me out
I've concluded a quick jolt to the wrench usually will break them loose. Applying a constant force usually rounds them off.
If you use a six sided boxed end wrench or socket, you can usually break the bleeder screws loose without damaging them.
If you get the damaged bleeder screws off purchase new replacements.
