I just finished a rebuild making my 351M a 400, and I thought I'd get fancy and add a nice new shiney fuel pump. Well I shouldn't have bought a Mr. Gasket. Had it on, and running less then an hour just getting the carb tuned and timing set and it started spewing gas on my oil filter. So I'm sending it back to Summit.
Anybody had good luck with other pumps? Should I just go back to stock?
seems to be an epidemic. i was looking for a 6 valve mechanical pump but nobody makes one for us, i ended up going with a holley blue electric. i'd agree on the napa, i think they sell Carter which is the OE manufacturer. another thread on the subject-http://www.network54.com/Forum/thread?forumid=119419&messageid=1093467283
I have a blockoff plate ofer the stock fuel pump hole, and have a carter electric pump installed inline on the frame rail of the truck, under the cab. works fine.
