Redline??????
What is Redline on the 351M? I heard that it is around 4000 but that seems a lil low. i know it has to be somewhere around 5000. i just would like to know as i tow & haul a lot. i let the engine do it's braking. so this info would be very helpful. i do it all the time in the v-10 & 4R100 hauling the Case 580K Backhoe.
Any ideas on redline????????

Go till you blow, then you'll know where the redline should have been.
If it's a stocker and you're backing down alot with the engine I think 4000 sounds like plenty. If it was just a matter of running hard through the gears 4500 should be reasonable. With a worked engine 5500 or more depending on what was done on the bottom end is obtainable. There is no magic number though, especially if you take into account tolerances on the engine build. You could have one engine right in the middle of all the tolerances that seems to go like crazy without a problem and another one that is at the outer ends of all the tolerances and won't run as well or as far as the other one.
