instument cluster???
hey everybody new here!!!
i have a 97 ranger 2.3 2wd and my q. is i have no tach. and i want to add one i found a cluster from a 2000 fx4 and i was wondering if it would fit right in to my dash ,,,,,if it does will everything work ? i heard my truck is ready for a tach ,everything is there it just didnt come stock with one........ or what year and model can i look for into transforming my truck to have a stock tach???

According to car-part.com, ONLY 96-97 will work for you. I guess if you feel this 2000 cluster is the only one you will ever find and want to repin, go for it. Otherwise, you will get lights blinking all over the place.
Considering the site had *75* pages of 97 model interchangeable clusters with tach in MPH form, you shouldn't feel too pressed.
Also, the 4wd version is the same, but you will never have a t-case hooked up to its harness to have that 4wd light come on.

well i looked at the site and only 96and97 are interchangeable now you say to repin will it plug in so i dont have to worry about finding the plug ??? and to repin how difficult is that???
