I'm running a '94 Ranger with a 2.3L, 5 speed. Came up with the check engine light earlier this week. Pulled the code using the flashing check engine light method from the Haynes manual and then had it verified at AutoZone. I can't find any reference to SPOUT in the Haynes so I'm not sure what or where it is. The code manual the guy at AutoZone used said to look at the coil packs. I've checked the primarys and secondarys in each coil and they ohm out exactly as the manual says. Reading through the other postings I've seen Ken00 make reference to a pinpoint check. Is that the next road I need to take or is there something else to do first? If it's the pinpoint check, where do I find it? Thanks.
Yes, I would really appreciate it if you could send me the PPT JC. I've got the multimeter (I'm an electronics tech by trade). Are the breakout boxes purchase items or do I need to build them? Thanks.
I don't know if Ken00 rereads threads he's already replied to. I tried to send him an email requesting the pinpoints test, but I don't have enough posts yet for my email to be enabled. Could one of you kind folks out there let him know? I appreciate it.
