2002 PSD Upgrade Questions
- Shocks: thinking of going with Bilstien
- Air Bags: what are the downsides of adding rear airbags, any makes better than others
- Predator vs. Edge Products tuner any thoughts on one over the other, Do any of the tuners have ability to act as display for gauges
-Transmission - do I need to be concerned about it with addition of above?
- Exhaust - Does the upgrade to 4" make a significant impact?
Any input is appreciated
Thanks!
Shocks: Bilstien are good, personally I have the rancho 9000 adjustable for 4 wheeling
Air bags: These are very nice for towing, I have used firestone and airlift both are good I prefer the airlift because they are the same bag as the firestone but about 15% cheaper. I tow a 25" TT and like them very much.
Programmer: none of them offer a gage display for the 7.3L only the 6.0L Get a good set of pillar gages from DiPricol or Autometer (they match the dash). I have all three and they are all good (superchips, predator, edge) I use the superchips more for towing.
Transmission: Auto- larger cooler and deeper pan and a good synthetic fluid you can put in the tricumulator springs and valve body but most all of the programmers somewhat have the same effect of raising the line pressure.
Exhaust: 3.5" downpipe and 4" the rest of the way will be sufficient
Hope this helps.
Nice to see you back haven't heard from you in a while hope all is well.
Devon,
Clk gave you some good advice!!! I use the firestone bags, and predator tuner, Everything else is same as his. Get the gauges first before you do anything else!!!!!
