Diesel swap
I own a 92 f250 w/7.3 . Looking at buying a 79 ex-ambulance with 460, to use for a work truck. I like the mileage and dependability of my diesel, so would it be possible to swap the motors, or would it be to much work.

If the ambulance is a Van, you will AT LEAST need a different oil cooler and exhaust manifolds, but I'm not even sure you could get your motor in there in a 79. I think Ford started putting the 6.9 in Vans in 1983, don't know if there were any changes to the chassis.
