Airbag problems?

Airbag problems?
I was in a low speed accident the other day, about 5 mph, and my airbags deployed eventhough they werent supposed to deploy. Ive read in multiple places about similar problems in many Ford vehicles. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if so what was the outcome, did ford pay or what.
I talked to ford customer service and they pretty much told me to shove off and let insurance pay for it, which is wrong, since its fords problem, and they know it. If I go through insurance it would probably end up costing me 1000s in the long run.
