I finally got some films developed, and had the time to upload them.
Hopefully the pics will be of use to someone, they are of the 390 test fit,the front disc coversion, the paintless cab (now in dp-40),dana 60, and misc pics.
Progress is slow but is'nt that the fun of it. Who knows, maybe this time next year, I might be able to drive it. Or the year after.
Congrats! That is going to be an awsome truck. I think a 390 was a good choice. Looks like it has plenty of room in there.
What kind of bed are you planning?
I have a regular long box and running boards for it. The plan is to make the truck look
like an original, but with a more modern power train, brakes, steering ect.
The 390/c6 fit without modifying the crossmember, looks like lots of room but it is tight, the exhaust will be a chalenge.
Regarding the exhaust, do you plan on using the cast stock exhaust manifolds for that 390 or hugger headers? There should be huggers for FE blocks available, tho I don't know a source. The cast headers are sure to give you as good a clearance as possible.
Anyway, I really like your plan.
