Hi Everyone , Happy New Year !!
I just uploaded three new pics of the ole 55 . I'm hoping to get out there and move this project along as time allows ..
Just checked out your gallery, the two tone scheme looks great, colors are awesome and the pearl makes it pop really well. Good work, congrats and keep it up.
The paint brand is DuPont and the colors are Volvo Blue code 458 and Ford Silver Frost code TS . The clear has PPG Prismatique multi flake added to give it the pop . It has 4 coats of clear 2 with the multiflake and 2 without so that I could sand and buff it out without getting into the multiflake treated clear . It doesn't take alot of flake to get the effect ( I think I went with a 1/8 teaspoon mixed into a cup of clear . I can check my notes if you want but you will probably adjust it to suit your taste in the amount of flake you are looking for ).
Very good looking truck! the paint looks great on it... im not gonna be ready for paint for awhile on mine but im still undecided on what i want, after seeing everyones trucks on here it isnt making it any easier theses trucks look great in so many different colors
Thanks guys ,you really don't know how much it means to me to have you like the truck . It's like being judged by your peers . Anyway it's a long way from being done but it's a heck of alot closer than when it was offloaded into the garage ...
Thanks for the info on the paint codes and the process of adding the flake to the clear. Just so happens i'm headed to the DuPont distributor on Tuesday or Wednesday. I'll check it out. Your 55 is lookin' really good .
