Brake Lightbulb question.

Does the bulb get more voltage when the brake pedal is applied? like at night when you have your lights on, the bulbs are on and when you press the brake they get brighter, so do they get more volts? yea dumb question, but i need it for something.

The bulb has two filaments inside it.
One filament is for the tail light and one filament is used for the turn signal and brake.

The bulb runs off of 12 volts. It just looks brighter because of two filaments lighting at the same time.

The brake light/turn signal portion I'm pretty sure also has a lower resistance in the filament to make it burn brighter than the running light portion. Much like high and low beam headlights.
