I own a 6.0 powerstroke built on 2-8-03. I am having injector problems and would like to know if they were a faulty design og just some bad seals ? I am also having a coolant smell when I lay into it . The dealer will be installing new head gaskets come Monday. Is there anyone out there that can help?
Location is Corpus Christi Texas and the dealer and repair dealership are the same, Access Ford. This truck has been a good truck when it is running but between the time in the shop and time on the road it is getting crazy. I am tired of paying the deductible and rental car fees when it is down. I am fixing to go broke.
I have excursion with engine build date 10/17.03. Have had all injectors replaced 3 times, sometimes on going 35 miles B4 breakdown again! Have requested buy bacy thru DSB. Will look at the 05's and hope this problem is solved.

Bill, then you are the ONE fortunate customers that has had ALL injectors replaced... especially 3 times !!!!
Since Ford has dictated that only the failed injector should be replaced...

I would suggest someone, probably your dealership,
1) either is pulling our collective leg,
2) just a "big fat story teller" or
3) is incompetent....
Any of which is not a talent I would like my dealership to have

Tim the vin is: *****************. Hope I am replying back to you right..
Just ran your VIN. If you would like, you may go back and edit it out of your post for privacy reasons.
You even had to wait on your dealer because they didn't have the injector o-rings in stock
I'm with JD here, you might want to find another dealer. It doesn't even show that they replaced the injector sleeves; these are supposed to be replaced with the rings and copper gaskets. Either they were too stupid to log it into OASIS, or they didn't change them...
IN my state - 30 days out of service for ANY reason in the first 12 months is lemon law material...
that's how I got two different replacements from other manufacturers !!!
Get on their case... don't waste any more of your valuable fight time on here
and good luck
Looks like I am going to have to go through that DSB thing. Is there anyone out there that might be able to help me out a little ? I have a bad feeling this is going to be painfull ?
I've been through it with two prior vehicles....
it IS a time consuming thing...
but as long as you have all your information and like a little "negotiation",
it's not as bad as you'd think...
