newbies 1st question

hello everybody!!!

I have been lurking around here for a bit and have done a few searches to try and find the answer to my question, but haven't had any luck so I thought I would throw it out here for my first post and see if anybody here knows.

I have a 2000 F250 SD Ext Cab 4x4 Gaser. I was poking around underneath it the other day making a few last adjustments to the new exhaust I had just installed and noticed on the back of the front wheel well (where you would mount mud flaps, but on the undercarriage side) there are electrical connectors on both sides that are mounted to the wheel well and don't go anywhere. I was thinking that they may be for lights for running boards. Since I am going to install a set in the near future, I was thinking about putting some light on them.

I tested them and could not get any power out of them with lights on, int lights on, door open.........nothing. They don't seem to be hooked up to anythig.

Can anybody clue me in as to what these might be for??

I hope I've explained this enough.

Thank you in advance

Mark

On my '03, these are the connectors for the front wheels' ABS sensors. 4-wheel ABS has been standard from at least 2001 to present. I'm nor sure about the 2000 model year, but in 1999, only trucks with the Lariat trim and trucks over 10,000 lbs GVWR (F350 duallies, F450, F550) got 4 wheel ABS. The rest only had Rear Wheel ABS. (RABS) That may be why the some of the wiring is present but not the sensors.

Thank you for the reply. Makes sense. I would be too easy to have these harnesses already there. I have read a few post about how to go about lighting up the running boards. I'm not looking to melt snow with these lights but a little accent lighting would look nice.
