Ditto what 82F100SWB said. The wiring harness for the glow plugs has a male connector, and the valve cover gasket has a female on both sides. One side is under the valve cover, and connects to the internal wiring harness, and the other is outside the valve cover, and connects to the main injector wiring harness that runs across the top of your engine. If the fault lies in that piece, brace yourself when you price a replacement. It's several hundred dollars.
If you need to replace one of the terminals on that beast, it can be done independently, without going to the expense of replacing the whole thing. I've done it before, and though it's a bit of a hassle, it's a lot cheaper than replacing the whole thing. Since you're local, I could even tell you where to buy the stuff you need to do it yourself, assuming that's what you need.
My cell number is 253-315-1222. Call me if you need part numbers, or whatever.
Scott.
Quadzilla I completed the replacement of the harness's and valve cover today. See this thread: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/s...d.php?t=278697
I haven't forgotten the phone call, I still want to talk about the part numbers.
Mr. Kwikordead, would you have the part numbers for the replacement connector kit for the wirring harness,. or the connector that plugs into the valve cover gasket connection on the outside of the engine or the external connection? I have the same problem with my number one cylinder bad plug conductor. The main Ford truck parts house Midway Ford told me I would have to buy the entire wirring harness to replace a bad plug..... I would appreciate the help thanks...

No I haven't made that call to Quadzilla yet. Looks like I better get on the stick. Unless you have the numbers handy Quadzilla. When is a good time to call Quadzilla?
Kwikkordead, your pictures were real sharp. I also have a miss on my 99 7.3L .Power Stroke. Mine has a miss al the time and a rough ilde. I checked under the drivers side cover. The wiring looks good. Do you have to take the a/c pump off or can you get the cover off with the pump on? While I was under the drivers cover I disconnected each injecter one by one. The injecters on that side seem to be ok. I will check under the passinger side and see if I find anything. Thanks again for posting the pictures

I found the passenger side to come off easier than the driver's side contrary to popular belief. It comes off and must be manipulated around the heater hoses and AC lines to get it out of the engine compartment, but yes it does come out without removing the accessory mount. Good luck on your search. From your description I have a sneaking suspicion that you also have a failed injector. My truck never had a miss, it idled like it had a racing cam in it. Just rolling rough.
