2 Weeks and loving it!
Bit the bullet and bought an new 04 F150 Lariat Screw!!! Bright Red 4x4!

Tan leather Captains chairs
3.73 limited slip diff

power rear sliding window
bright tubular running boards
So far it has been 2 weeks and 1400 miles and there is absolutely NOTHING that I can complain about this truck. It is by far the best truck that I have ever driven!
I would like to thank everyone in this forum for their honest opinions about the good and the bad. It was a great help in my decision!
I have spent the better part of the last 4 - 6 months researching what I wanted. I have been a larger SUV owner for my last two vehicles (14 years and putting 168K miles on them at a minimum, the one I just traded in for this at 168K/6yrs the previous at 238K/8yrs). I have been so used to closed back and have always debated the utility of the open bed but have always need the 4 doors. Finally decided that the open bed far outweighed the closed end of the SUV. Besides, I have ended up with a truck which is: 1) the best truck that I have ever driven, 2) as option filled as any full size SUV, 3) has more utility and capability than the full size SUV, and 4) cost me $5K to $10K less than a comparible equiped full size SUV.
I only have two problems now. The first is hoping the bright red ("give me a ticket red") doesn't attrack too much attention because this thing drives way to smooth and comfortable at 85+MPH. The second is how to convince my better half that after 50K miles I need to trade it in for the upgrade F250/F350 with the long bed. I just know that I will want it way too soon.
Again, thanks for all of your honest opinions in this forum. It helped me to make the right choice!
