I have an 88 bronco 2 2.9.
the truck runs perfect except all of a sudden it will just die. i wait about 20 min or so and it fires right up and runs great again for about a couple days or so. the problem is very speratic. if i try to start it before that time it will just crank. any ideas????? i checked the code and there is none. replaced fuel filters and comp box. im at a loss.
I had the same problem one year ago, try looking "tfi" here in the forum. I replace that piece and everithing was ok.
here is one link that may help you.
good luck.

Have the exact same truck, and mine did the same thing. Started with the inertia switch for the fuel pump, then the fuel pump relay, the fuel filter, then finally the fuel pump in the tank. Not too bad for work (unless you just put 10 gals in her the day before, like I did ) but it fixed the problem. When your dies, is there fuel pressure in the fuel rail? mine just had vapors.
