Well I say make but I mean request. I have a 2004 F350 crew long 4x4 Lariat with the 6.0 I bought it new December 31st, 2003 with 28 miles. It was produced in October of 2003. Since almost day one it has had some sort of problem. I have experienced 2 rear main seals, 1 front seal, 3 reflashes, and two glow plug harness' within 16750 miles. It is currently at the dealer getting another glow plug harness. I have been happy with my truck but I am now on like a first name basis at the dealer and that is the last thing I want. I do not tow anything or rag on my vehicles so it is not my fault and the tech that works on it has 15 years Ford diesel experience so I dont think it is him. I am at my witts end on this. I called Ford Motor Co. today and had them take down a complaint but I dont know how this process goes. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!!!!
THANK YOU!!!

WOW...I knew TX was pretty close to the top row. But I have to think TN is pretty close too. + I've got (2) nephews from TN in the Army. One just left Bagdad (on his own two feet thank goodness) And the other is in Special Forces (the dark side) He is going back to the desert soon.

i am waitin for the day the war comes to our homefront tho. hope it doesnt come in my life time
See this thread in the Excursion forum for a starter. IMO, if the truck looks like it basically qualifies as a "lemon" in your state, you'll have a fairly easy time of it in a DSB hearing.
txhntr, i had ford buy back a 2003 6.0psd, fill out the paperwork and make copies of all the work that has been done, you need it to have been worked on for the same problem three times, or in the shop for more than 30 days, if you meet these requirements, fill out the papers, it will take ford about two to three weeks before they will contact you back in writing that they recieved your complaint, in this letter they will give some information on what to do.follow their instructions. if this doesnot work to your liking call them back at the customer call number and tell that you are still unhappy, and you wish them to buy it back. Its a long haul to complete, but they will do it. Mine took almost two months, but Ford made good, gave me all i had into to it, with no mileage adjustment. even gave me a great deal on a 2004, and i have had no major problems with it yey!
txhntr, i just had another thing to ask you, has the truck been to a Heavy truck garage or a car Dealership, i have found out that the heavy truck garage has a little bit more knowledge on the 6.0 motor than a car dealership. I do believe that if i had my first truck worked by a heavy truck garage it might have been fixed the sooner,
i had problems with bad injectors, and no one at the car dealership knew anthing about them.. Just an idea!
The DSB board will go by your stat lemon laws. so use them as a guide. I had my 2003 bought back. They tried to make me pay milage because I live in St. Louis MO. as per MO lemon law. but since Im in the Army, and a resident of Oregon they had to go with the Oregon law (NO MILAGE FEE) I never had 3 of the same thing go wrong just a whole bunch of diffrent stuff. in shop a total of 19 days. They bought it back and I am now the proud owner of a 2004 F-350. (with a few minor problems). Hope this helps. Jerry.
tbirdrich, they bought all the extras, I had on mine,
which were, tires, front bug deflector, ARE pick-up tooper, sprayed in lin-x,
and floor mats. total was around two grand. I told them at the time I would never buy another ford again, but once I started looking, I couldn't find anthing else that I liked, both the chev and the dodge would not deal on their prices.
If Ford buys it back do they pay back the license and taxes too? How about that $1600 I have in the 5th wheel hitch?
Rick
I am going this route right now, they will swap your fifth wheel hitch to the new truck. You lost your license and taxes, they don't reimburse for those. You do need receipts for anything on your truck, or they will switch out the parts to the new truck.
I don't know how this works for sure, but I started having conversations with my dealership about one month before it came to a head. After repeated efforts on my part to work through the dealership, I found out the regional rep was in town, and made a point to go to the dealership and ask for an audience. The owner of the dealership cornered me, and we had a rather heated discussion about his lack of assistance in the matter, and I explained I was only there to talk to the rep. He agreed and sent her my way. Not sure about this, but I believe he supported my position, and presented my case to the rep as the rep took about half hour to show up. I stated my case, my wife stood by and kept saying she wanted the dodge. The rep finally responded with she had reviewed my file, and felt I had a legitimate claim. She waived any mileage penalty and told us to forget about the dodge, pick out a new ford and enjoy. Just received the paperwork on 9/1, and transaction will be complete when my new 05 shows up. I was lucky and did not have to go through the arbitration process. My suggestion, be nice but firm with the dealership, You want them as an ally.
