VERYYYYY nice machine. AZ has some great open road riding, especially in the fall. I would suggest riding throught he white mountains, during the fall color season.
Well, thanks for all the replys. It looks like I could make a Northwest run, but the east is a little thin!
I have not commited to the plan yet. If I purchase the bike, that would seal the deal!
for now, I need t oget back to the truck, and figure out why the darn fans keep cutting out! I finally got a gas gauge that should work with my fuel cell GM style sending unit. I migt actually have a working gas gauge here shortly! That will be nice, seeing as it goes through a tank in a good day of driving :-(
hey gtex if you make it out to the east you can hang out here in east tennessee. the smoky mntns are a blast to ride through. that goes for anybody else as well. i'll take you for a ride in the six niner. oh joy!
Oh Greg, I had made mention to put some class under your *** and by a Harley Road King, for better resale comfort etc..But I guess the Mormon censors got me??
Well if ya make it out east I'm in the northeast corner of Vermont...just a little north of St. Johnsbury...4 hr ride or so from R.I. If the dates fall right we usually have a huge mudbog party in the end of Sept or the begining of Oct...never mind the fall foliage. If ya want an idea of whats up here do a quick search of lake Willoughby...its 2 miles up the road from me.
Rob
Youll have it made here in San Diego, I own 3 bikes. Typical relaxing day with the buddies consists of a nice ride in the morning/afternoon, then cook a feast and drink lots of beer. then do it all over the next day. Sunny blue sky the whole time =)
Come on up to Seattle!! I dont need any excuse to ride- rain or shine!
On a personal note, stay away from Harley ( this will get me flamed for sure ) do you want to RIDE, or REPAIR....??????

Well Airman I will agree with you to a certain point... When AMF bought out Harley back in 69 from then thru 70 something they were a hunk of junk..
In 81 or 82 when they were sold back to the Harley boys(joe) they comletely changed all the tooling an Inspection, and machining processes
And Harley is Now one of the few bikes made today that realdoesnt need gaskets in between there cases to keep them from leaking..there not only machined to close tolerences they a also lapped in....
But that just my opinion on them? I would rather have a sister in a house of prositution than a brother that road a Honda!!
Well guys. I got a bike! Well, I won the auction on Ebay. Assuming the deal goes through, I'll have a bike. I won it for less than I thought! A good bit less than MSRP for a new limited production bike! most guys had to put down a deposit, and wait and pay MSRP. Some got it for $500 off MSRP. I won it for about $900 off MSRP :-) I'll go get it next week! I hope to get in a few weeks of getting used to it, get that first oil change done then it's off to see the country. Although more of you from the west spoke up, I'll probably head east. My dad thinks he might go up Northeast and meet and old girlfriend and one of my best buddies is in RI! if thigs go well and I like making miles more than I expect, I might just head out west as well. I've got 2 months!
Of course, it may cost me a marriage if she finds out what it cost.
