Engine Build Date?

My truck has 02/04 build date on the drivers door; however I was wondering the easiest way to find out if my engine is an 04 or 03?

yours is definately an 04 engine. The break is in 10 or 11/2003 where they swapped over to the 04 engine.

On the back end of the driver's side valve cover is a sticker that have the engine's build date on it.

also on the passenger side there is a international sticker that is blue(on mine at least) that has the year stamp fairly large.
