Its a 1977 f-150 crewcab 2wd with a 351m. The engine starts up but you have to turn the key and pump the gas..and rev the engine for a couple of minutes to get it running. Then once you are driving the engine will just stop running if you let off the gas too much or stop. Also the thing only reaches 25mph. Does anyone know whats wrong with it? this thing is stressing me out
sounds like what mine used to do a while back. there was a ton of crap in the tank and i droped the tank and cleaned it out and replaced all the lines (including the steel line as they tend to rust and cause problems). if you can't aford to replace the lines take an air compressor and blow out the steel line and replace the rubber front to back. i cleaned mine out as a temporary fix but it works. always try the most simple things first, it's usually simple things that go screwy. rust and junk build up in the tank. what year is it 77-82? Just my $0.02 Hope this helps Keep me informed.
