i am lookin to put a suspension lift on my psd superduty and i am kinda considering doin a 6 inch lift and i want for tires i want to run 35's. Would 35's look to small with a 6 inch lift or look kinda funny??? I've seen pics of a few superdutys with this set up on the net, but i need a second opinion. Thanks.
I have the 6.5" pro comp lift with 37x12.50's on it. If you're going with 35's and do any hard wheeling, I'd go with a 6", otherwise the 4" looks better in my opinion. My brother in law has '04/f350/cc/long bed/6.0 with the 4" lift with 35's (bfg mud's) and it looks and handles good.
ive got an 03 4x4 with 6 inch lift and 35-14.50-16.5 the local shop told me you can run 35`s with a 4 inch lift with a 10 inch wide wheel no probloms but any wider wheel requires 6 inch I went with a 12 wide wheel i like the look of a shorter wider wheel its a good thing i went with he 6 inch lift cause its still close on full lock turn however its very stable because the sidewalls of the tire are straight due to the wider wheel ..........marc
Running 6" lift with 35's. IMO tires look too small for the size lift.
The good part is ZERO rubbing off road.
So figure out what you plan to do. Want a mall cruiser? Go for the largest tires you can fit under there and ride pimp style. Want to off road, move down to a smaller sized tire that looks funny.
I have an 02 350 powerstroke and i just bought the edge 6in. lift w rear springs and 17x12 welds with 37/13.50 pro comp xts and i'm woried about everything. to big? hard turning ect. I hace bushwacker cutouts so they told me 37s would work with 6in any input appreciated. thanks gary
It'll definitely work but I have a feeling it'll rub a bit when you turn the wheel full left or right. Mine rubs just a hair when I turn full right with 37x12.50's (on a 16.5x19.75 rim, 6.5" pro comp) so you might get a bit more. I wouldn't worry about it though unless you do alot of hard wheeling. Otherwise, all it does is buff the black off the spring packs and shines it up real nice. That's what my last set of tires did, ha ha...
If you are running bushwacker cut-out flares with a 6" lift you could fit 38/15.50R17s on 17x12s and clear them fine off road.
Here's a truck with a similar setup:
The cut-out flares give you a lot of clearance since I think 3.5-4" is cut off of the back of the front fenders.
