My E4OD trnsmission in 1993 F250 is giving me a challenge It is acting erraticly in the shift pattern IE harsh shifts OD lite blinking off & on slippige when taking off from standstill took to shop they said their computer showed
problems w/ the electrical system have in eletrical shop today to see if they can find the problem any one haveing similar problems woul like thier input
Thanks
Yes I have already replaced The Vehicle speed sensor I have it at an electrical repair shop am hoping that they find something thanks for the tip though mbrushc
I am having similiar problem on my 94 f 350 4eod.It has a rebuilt trans and I replaced the TP ( fipl) and Vss and still have the problem,I have been told this is common problem, I am going to try a Banks Transcommand and see if that helps.
Well got the trany fixed instead of a new transmision they found electric problems (2) broken ground connectors now it shifts as good as new and only cost $299.80 for a diagnostic Fee And to repair the gound straps whole lot better than replaceing the trans.
well its been almost 2 weeks since the electrical system was checked and repaired and the truck is runing fair had trany fluid changed still seems to be a sloppy sift from first to second rest shift ok but maybe I expect to much after all it is a truck and a darn good one I get arounund 18 to 18!/2 per gallon dosent use oil or transmission fluid so I am happy, going on a long trip with it and will see how it does .

My issues seem to have been mostly the TPS sensor.
I pulled codes and found it was higher or lower then it should be. Checked it out, sure enough it was way to low....
Got that solved 2 weeks ago.
Now I am getting a code 62. Converter clutch error (E4OD)
It almost feels like the tranny is slipping after the engine is up over 2000 RPM as well in 1st, 2nd or 3rd gear.
How the heck do I test the MLPS?
I want to test this before I look at replacing the TC.
BTW - '94 F350 7.3L, e4od auto.
Made the trip w/out any mishaps over 3000 milels avereged over 18 1/2 miles Per gallon - St Louis Mo to Jacksonville Fl to Newport News to St Louis Mo
no problem except the price of fuel ranged 1.93 To 2.19 per gallon
Those trany are weird sometimes. On mine they had to change the springs in the soleinoid pack because it was shifting to hard. Now it is smoooooth, may be toooo smooth, will see in a few years if I have worn plates.
WATCHER, I have a few questions for you, first off, do you have a side shot of your truck? if so can you email it to me? NauticaEE@aol.com next, whats the rear gear on your truck and the transmission code? I have a 93 5 speed i want to change over to automatic and i want to make sure i grab the right transmission, Also, if i put 3 inch piping from the headers straight to the stacks with one muffler in between, then the 5 inch stacks will that be too big? Not enough back pressure? thanks for all the help!
dont know any thing about the the exhaust but the transmission is a ford E4od If I was you I would leave the stick shift in the truck not as many problems
