While messing with my Predator tonight (which angered me, another story though) I was looking at my dashboard and reading the gauges when something out of the ordinary caught my eye. In the upper right corner of the display on the gauge cluster the phrase "Check Gage" is there. Well, has anyone noticed that Ford spelled Gauge wrong?
Definition of "Gage" - 1 : a token of defiance; specifically : a glove or cap cast on the ground to be taken up by an opponent as a pledge of combat
2 : something deposited as a pledge of performance
Definition of "Gauge" - 1 a : a measurement
So, think Ford is messing with our heads? Or has anyone else noticed this? I personally think it's kinda funny!
It's 11:27pm here in the Midwest and now I have to go to the garage and look!!!
Too funny!!!
It's now 11:30pm and I had to put my pants on and... low and behold the word guage is mispelled!!!!
Guess they forgot about the check (see below) light for the following...
1) Injectors
2) Oil
3) Turbo
4) A/C
5) Radiator cap
5) Flash settings and version #
6) Mileage problems
7) Loose turbo hoses
They were worried more about the gages (guages) then other components.
What a great laugh... will have to point out to my dealer next time I am in for oil change.
Have a good night since it is now 11:36pm and I need to go to bed (this site gets addictive)!!!
Oh boy...Couldn't stand it...11:45 had to go stomp around outside and look...couldn't spell on the '04's either. There it is, bigger than the full moon itsownself. G A G E. I wonder how FRD coulda missed that?
I want a buy back, full trade, 100% over purchase increase toward an '05. Well...I presume that ...well surely they...of course they would...well...spell everything right on the '05s...
Yeah, I DID notice that when I picked up my new truck on Sat. I thought it was an acronym for something. Hard to believe they'd goof that up... Maybe the trucks with the misspelling will become collector's items?

It think it was probable a space issue, there stamping/cutting machine for the panels may only handle x number of characters, since guges wouldn't make sense, they used gages instead, that or one the assembly line guys did it as a joke and forgot to change it back.
