E4OD help

I am going to look into replacing the E4od in my 92 diesel. It has had work done on it but I am still having problems(shifting etc) I have heard that the newer E4OD's are better than the old ones. Is this true? Also, will up to 97 E4OD's swap in?

The dope is that the 95/96/97 E4OD's have the 'bugs' worked out. I'm sure a tranny rebuilder can tell you exactly what the 'bugs' are and what your's might need to have done to it to eradicate them...

I know I could ask A tranny rebuilder, but it is so hard to find one that doesn't want to screw you over! They all seem to say that the whole tranny needs to be rebuilt again(after only about 3 years) and thats about it! It is very hard to get a straight answer, so that is why I want to hopefully put in a newer(hopefully better) tranny! Any other suggestions?

I have a rebuilt e4od out of a 91 diesel for sale. I had it rebuilt last summer, and my motor just blew, so I am parting it out, i could prbably find the reciept some where too. It only has about 8k miles on it. It cost me over 2 grand to have rebuilt, it also has a really big cooler. Email me at motobub@hotmail.com if you are interested in it. Or anyother parts for that truck.
