C6 gears

My c6 transmission only goes in to 1st , 2nd, and then 3rd. Is that normal? I mean does the C6 tranny have a fourth gear because if it does it never kicks in?

That's all the gears you get with a C6. You'd have to go to an overdrive tranny for 4th.

With a 360, you're probably limited to the C6 or possibly an FMX (no overdrive on that one either) because of the bellhousing bolt pattern, unless someone makes an adapter to fit an AOD. The AOD would be the overdrive trans to pick because it is not electronically controlled like the later AODE and E4OD and doesn't need the extra wiring/computer. The other option is changing the axle ratio, which is a compromise, because what you gain on the top end, you lose on the bottom end and vise-versa. Another option would be an aftermarket overdrive unit like a Gear Vendors, but those are rediculusly expensive ($2500+).
