I was wondering if anybody here new what I would have too go through too swap in a zf-5spd. into my 83 f-150 it has 302 now w/ an aod, 2wd.
I do plan on swapping ini a 351w later, but that should be no problems, I know I will have too find the pedal brakets, master cylinder, salve, and hydrolic lines.
Will I have too get my driveshaft extended?
You also need a flywheel, and new clutch, if you need a longer driveshaft find one of a truck that is already longer and get it shortened to lenght cause this will save you some money.
It should work, you might have to move it back by drilling some new holes, no biggie but can be a pain in the butt (use and air drill, lighter and just as powerfull as a 1/2 electric)
problem with the air drill just so you know when you're drilling through steel you need to go at about 50% speed that you would go for aluminum(full out) so practice for awhile cause that's hard to do on most air drills or if you don't want to slow it down by trigger control then just lower the air pressure into the drill. have fun
