Pro,
I see you did a shackle reversal on the front of the bogger. Did you buy them or make them? Did youdrop the front of the spring too? How?
Thats what I'm looking for on my 78 250.
Ooookay. Its not often I get questions about a shackle reversal. Kind of refreshing. Let me know if you need anything. Theres also a recent pic floating around here with my front sheet metal off that shows how I dropped the mounts for the front of the springs.
Well here's a few pics of Pro's front hangar since he's probably passed out and drooling on himself by now. I went crazy with the camera when I was down there to help me with my build. I've probably got more pics of his truck then he does now!

As long as were talking about shackle flips, Im going to do my rear. I made my own hangers similar to the Sky hangers & Im wondering what degree the rear shackle should be at ? I'm reading anywhere from 30 - 45 deg. in the threads. But that seems like an awful lot. Im thinking more like 15 maby 20 at the most.
A shallow or zero angle rear shackle will ride like poop. 30-45 allows the spring to flex back without bouncing the truck up. The reason people recommend this angle range is because it's been experimented with and found to be the most efficient.
Actually, we weren't. We were talking about shackle REVERSALS. Totally different modification.
Actually, its sad but true that Ivan DOES have more pictures of my truck. Better ones too. I've never been much of a picture taker and I've really got to change that. Or at least start putting guns to peoples head that have all the videos and pics of my truck so I can have them.
All of the weight added to the front end was negated by other components I either removed or exchanged cast iron for aluminum. No issue there. Even if I had added that front shackle drop and didn't lighten any other components it would have still been much, much less of a weight increase over adding, say, a winch. Its always better to lighten your front end, or at least shift the weight back, but in this case its not much of an issue.
Shackle angle is relevant to shackle length. If the shackle ends up being 6" then it looks like it needs less angle than say a 3" shackle. Because the idea of this is the pivit points are a given ammount away from each other.
