I have developed a short. The battery will drain in 2 or 3 days. I disconected the neg. at the battery and connecterd a multimeter. I get between 2 and 3 volts. Pulled every fuse, disconected the Alt., plow, and key switch at the relay, no change.
On the starter relay, battery side I have 3 wires; + Bat, and 2 eye conecters 1 with 2 wires(orange) and 1 with 1 wire(red). The 2 orange wires pull .6 volts, is this normal? The truck has a clock but its burn't out. The red wire pulls 2.2 volts. But heres the kicker, about 2" in the wire is broke inside the casing. Where do these wires go? The orange wires power the dash as it acks like a dead bat when its diconected. Could this have something to with the hard cold stating?

What year is the truck and what engine does it have? I have some wiring diagrams and might be able to look it up. One big cause of battery drain is the charging system, voltage regulator and alternator. There are usally fusible links in these wires.
