Question Engine power upgrade

I have a 2001 F-150 4X4 Supercrew XLT 5.4 EFI V8 Engine 4-SPD AUTO O/D

What can I do to get better performace out of my engine ???
Is there a computer chip that I can buy to get better perfomace and where can I buy it ?
Is there something that can be done with the exhaust sys. ???

I put true dual exhaust on my 03 F-150 5.4L and a cold air intake, and I can deffently feel a big change in horse power. besides the power gain it sound great too.

I also have the true duals and intake, but i found the biggest boost was with the programmer and running the higher octane fuel. I use the hypertech programmer but i would imagine they are all about the same.

I never thought about using higher octain fuel after modifing the exhaust and intake. now it kinda makes sense. after you used the programer does your gas milage go down or does it get better???
