It sounds unrelated to me. The e-brake only applies braking pressure to the rear brakes. The rear ABS sensor is mounted on the differential. Having the e-brake on for that long may overheat the brakes, but that has nothing to do with the ABS system.
Some people have luck with replacing the rear ABS sensor, apparently it's an easy fix and only costs $20-30.
