New Guy With '84 Relay Question
Gents: Looking for help with relay location on my '84 F150 4.9l 4X4 with 4sp. The solenoid which vents the carb float bowl to the evap canister is trying to energize intermittently when the key is off....causes the solenoid to make a clicking noise and will drain the battery over a couple of days. There is supposed to be a relay that controls this solenoid but Chiltons is no help and I haven't located a factory shop manual yet. On the E150's this relay is supposed to be behind the passenger kick panel but no such luck on the F150.....can anyone help with location and identification? I understand the relay is supposed to energize the solenoid for 8 seconds or so when the key is shut off. Thanks, Brian.
