Question Fuel Tanks

I have a 1995 F-250 xlt LB. supercab.

I want to add a larger gas tank then the stock 18.8 and 19. Gal. tanks but I do not want to spend over 1000.00 and almost 900.00 for the rear tank and then lose my spair tial.
Can anyone help, I'm in S.Cal. any ideas?

A 33 gallon Bronco tank will fit under the rear of the truck nice. All you have to do is get four 3/4 inch by 10 inch long bolts to handle the deeper tank. You will also need to get a Bronco fuel sending unit, because the Bronco tank is 16 inches deep and your sending unit will not reach the bottom of the deeper tank. All the connections are the same. You can get a Heavy Duty Polyethylene Gas Tank for your truck. It costs $129.95 or a steel tank for around $90.00.

The tank is at http://store.ineedparts.com/store/c...?idProduct=6947 You will need the one with the 3 5/8 inch hole.

The fuel sending unit you will have to look around for. The ford dealer will want way too much so don't go there. Get a used one for about $50.

You will also need the little plastic tool to remove the fuel lines about $8.

I did this on my 93 F-150. I did all the work my self and I spent about $200 total and it sure makes it nice not to go to the pumps all the time. I also have the front tank, now the only problem is I need a loan to fill my truck now!!

One more note you will have to remove your spare tire and rack, then throw the tire in the bed. If you have a trailer hitch it might have to get removed temporarily to make the installation easier.

Good Luck!!!

Thank you for giving me another place to look for a tank.

How big is the front tank from a Bronco and do they carry them also? Or do you still got the stock front tank?

I've got the stock front tank. I replaced my rear tank after it started to leak. I wanted a bigger tank also and the replacement 19 gal tank was the same price as the 33 gal tank so I did the upgrade. With both tanks I hold about 50 gallons of fuel. Note: A Bronco only has one fuel tank.

One more thing, You will not be able to store your spare tire under the truck if you do this upgrade. The bigger tank will take up the area the where spare tire used to be. I just keep the spare tire in the bed.

If I get the rear tank for the Bronco, what do you think about put a fuel inline in front of it. and on in line in front of the front tank also? I found a used tank in the junk yard for less than a brand new one and it has the sending unit.

I really don't understand your question. The wiring harness and fuel lines will connect up the same to the bronco tank. You lucked out finding a used tank. I couldn't find one in PA.

LeeFord93,
the bronco tank worked in your F150.

I have a 89 F250, think it will work?
And would I buy the 1989 Bronco tank?

Thanks

I see what I did, I was tired when I sent that. I was asking if you thought that because it's a used tank if I should put an extra fuel filter in front of it. And change the other filter at the same time.

It would be a good idea to install a new fuel filter. Good luck with your project.
